Loved this article. I often think of the sacrifices of my ancestors who fought in all the was covered in your article. All men of course. I had ancestors fight for the south in the civil war even though none of them were slave owners.
Females often dismiss the fact that only US men are required to sign up for the draft. They fail to recognize that if we men do not do so, we cannot vote in federal elections. I would not have been hired by the USPS if I had not.
In front of congress, one of the silly feminists testified that if the 19th amendment was ratified, women would not need to be drafted because wars would be ended by women.
We see that the world has gotten worse since that amended passed. The US debt has ballooned because the politicians pander to the females and use money taken from men to buy the female votes.
I fear for my grandsons, who will have to clean up the messes made by these females and their male conspirators.
Fortunately my sons married excellent women, who love my sons and are great mothers to my grandsons.
Thanks for posting this! People tend to forget and do not realize the sacrifice made by others. Whether one agrees with going to war or not, these men died... and that is worthy of mention early and often.
First, when Hillary Clinton and many other feminists (including men) say that "women bear the brunt" of suffering in wartime, they refer to rape. That's not true in all wars or of all armies, but it is true of some (notably the Soviet soldiers who overran Germany at the end of World War II). To make the analogy stick, however, you'd have to argue that rape is the "fate worse than death." Not everyone would find that convincing. Also there's a long history going back to ancient times of raping defeated men (and killing male prisoners of war).
Second, these statistics are for American wars. European (and other) wars would have to include the number of civilians (men and women) who are killed and injured in air raids, blockades and so on.
But your point is well made, James. Some comments, however, gloss over the significant moral difference between SELF-sacrifice (a voluntary act, ultimately, despite internalized encouragement by social pressure or explicit threats by the state) and BEING sacrificed BY the state (a legal obligation that is backed up by both bribes and, if that fails, intimidation). The New Testament makes it clear that Jesus sacrificed himself, the implication being that Christians should follow his example. Modern states, however, apply the symbolism of self-sacrifice to conscripts (whether they are Christian, even religious, or not). It's not the same phenomenon.
In 2022, there were 271 suicides among female Veterans (80 fewer than in 2021) and 6,136 among male Veterans (83 more than in 2021), according to the 2024 National Veteran Suicide Report. That’s an increase of 1.4 percent in male suicides and a 22% decrease among female suicides. Males account for 83% of the military personnel and 96% of military suicides. That does not include other serious concerns, like drug overdoses, alcohol deaths, and homelessness. (https://www.mentalhealth.va.gov/docs/data-sheets/2024/2024-Annual-Report-Part-2-of-2_508.pdf).
These outcomes happen because modern therapists are struggling to help men. Modern therapy is moving away from sex differences and toward cultural only answers rooted in identity. The military actually needs therapists who approach male and female therapy with an understanding of male and female brain differences. Why have suicides dramatically decreased among females in the military but not males? The role of biology is not zero. The role of culture is not zero. But the first principal, male and female difference, matters when it comes to solving issues around mental health. The increase in despair (suicide, overdose, alcohol) is in part a response to the way males and females actually process PTSD, trauma, and despair. It’s less to do with the race and more to do with the way the male brain, regardless of race, responds to trauma and the way the female brain, regardless of race, responds to trauma and how therapists approach those differences. These are not absolutes, of course, but they are essential starting points in the aggregate.

Great job, data that cannot be refuted
Thanks for bringing this vital but tragic data to our attention. Too many lost men on the battlefield and in the aftermath.
Yes, but two questions remain to be answered.
First, when Hillary Clinton and many other feminists (including men) say that "women bear the brunt" of suffering in wartime, they refer to rape. Jesus died on the cross while in later times millions of men have died for family and country.
And yet women play the victim and will use democracy to get their own way. How ? They outnumber men who survived the world wars.
Hatred and greed are feminists poisons.
