If you'd like more data, here are the top 10 BS degrees, by percentage, for males and females: https://briefedbydata.substack.com/p/female-vs-male-undergraduate-enrollment

Similar data for MS degrees: https://briefedbydata.substack.com/p/female-vs-male-masters-degree-enrollment

Generally speaking, female-dominated majors have more females than male-dominated majors have males.

No problem. If you ever want any data or graph support, let me know. I'm pretty sure I'm the only math Ph.D. with a BS in exercise science.

I'm curious to know what men are doing instead.

These charts impart the cause of the birth-gap. I recall a commenter somewhere saying, "Women are derelict in their duty to humankind."

Meaning that they are not creating new life.

The age of mothers at first birth has been increasing for many years. Spending many years at university is a factor that has contributed to that increase.

I’m sure there’s a feminist group somewhere that still sees a glass ceiling in all of this!

As a retired male family doctor, with a long history in admin, including recruiting and managing doctors, I’m convinced that you get less work out of the female doctors over the course of their lifetime, for a variety of reasons: they work shorter hours, they see fewer patients per hour, they marry people with equal or greater earning power (which reduces their incentive to work hard), they retire earlier, and they still take on more responsibilities with the children.

Increasing the number of female doctor graduates, without increasing the class sizes, is one reason why we are short of doctors in Canada.

The thing about "women in STEM" is a complete fraud. It operates on the assumption that an AVERAGE woman can compete with a TOP-TIER man.

Thank you, James. I have heard that high school boys that are bullies become cops, while high school girls that are bullies become nurses. I will take a male nurse to a female nurse any day of the week, and a male doc to a female doc as well.
