Thanks Jim, interesting stuff. I would love to see the stats for 1950-2024. I have heard that one of the results from the focus on DV and female victims has been the reduced rates of death of men being killed by their female partners. One theory is that by giving the "victim" ladies a safe place, it resulted in fewer men being killed by their partner. If this is true, then if we want to have fewer women killed we need to give men a safe space. right?

I kinda get it, that there’s a huge anti-male bias, but i think this funding and media bias is an accurate reflection of real life, which i have gotten used to. i.e. if a child is a girl, we are just more protective of girls than boys. If there’s an attractive woman in a room, her needs and concerns are more attended to then the ugly old man in the room. I know there’s a huge philosophical and moral injustice about it all, but we as men just need to suck it up, and be better, smarter and more productive as a result. I think quite resolve and humble excellence eventually is recognized by the people closest to you, even if it never is by the strangers that should.

My understanding is that the majority of the victims of violence committed by males are boys and men AND the majority of the victims of violence committed by females are also boys and men.

Nobody seems invested in working out why males are everyones favourite target.

In terms of male-on-male violence, I suspect many evolutionary psychologists would partly (or completely) attribute this to intersexual competition between males and the drive for higher status and resources.

Men have always been the expected agents for the violence of which we approve.
